Poolcore is an aesthetic centered around images of pools that evoke feelings of strangeness or tranquility. These images are typically photographs of real-world pools or pool water, though 3D renderings or paintings are also common. The poolcore aesthetic originates from the internet and other similar aesthetics like liminal space, so poolcore images often feel familiar or reminiscent of something seen before.
