kz_cavern_vdark1 - Snipers Only

This one is a bit of an oddball for Kreedz, compared to what he was known for. Released in 2001, kz_cavern_vdark1 is a Scouts map inside of a cave that is almost completely pitch black, other than the water and spawn areas. This was capable of garnering a fun time, but it was definitely a niche that not many players would go for. The geometry is all fully textured as well, so I felt there was also a bit of a disservice done there since players could not see the environment they were moving around in. I've made it available for anyone looking to experience the map as it was originally designed.



With Kreedz's permission, I have also created an alternate version of the map that increases the light emitted from the torches. I didn't want to completely compromise the intent of the original map, so it's still very dark, but now it's a bit less of a blind endeavor. In order to make these changes, I did have to decompile the map, so some of the geometry in the map is changed. The changes are minimal and should not affect gameplay. For those interested in the brighter version, you will see it listed as kz_cavern_vdark1_bright. I created overviews that are packaged in with both versions of the map as well as RES files for anyone running a server. No readme or txt file was included with the original map.
